Never buy another card!!
I feel like a cheapskate because I'll never need to buy another greetings card again!
This package is ideal for anyone who ever sends a greetings card.
There are thousands of graphics to choose from including a few of the popular Country Companions and Forever Friends ranges. In addition to cards for all occasions, Card Studio 2009 also includes templates for calendars, gift boxes and tags, stationery, photo cubes, notelets and photo cards (insert your own pic) and just about everything else, and these can all be co-ordinated into matching designs, all in one easy to use, highly-intuitive package. There's also a handy Event Planner and Address Book to remind you of those important dates.
It's a large package but loads smoothly. On start-up there is a 'kid-lock' function which may be of use to parents wanting to restrict their child's access
The graphics provided are quality and tasteful rather than cheap and tacky looking images or the typical clip art and nondescript photos as found in too many similar packages.
Good for all occasions whether emailing or printing your cards
Hallmark card studio is a software package that lets you design your own great cards. However like too many software now-a-days there is far too much packaging for just one disc since you don't get any supplies with it. It's disappointing that they don't at least give you a few trial cards for you to play around with. Installation is rather lengthy as there is 3325Mb of info dumped on your computer. On installation you have to install Microsoft Net Framework which asks you to download and install. Microsoft Net Framework contains a pre-coded library of solutions to common programming problems and is required to run the programme.
You get 2 applications `Event Planner' and `Card Studio'. Event Planner is essentially a calendar with the ability to write card messages in advance for particular days and set reminders for birthdays and other anniversaries. Card Studio on start up allows you to activate `kids lock' and change passwords for secure access. There are loads of preset cards which you can change the wording to and the nice thing is that you can either select to print or email your card. You can add text and change fonts as well as add your own images too. If you email it you can add sound or music from a preset library or add your own music which is great just like online.
All in all a good idea for your card needs although paper might have been a nice addition and your system needs to be quite fast. Mine seemed to lag slightly and struggle a bit even though it's a 2.8Ghz system with 1Gb RAM.
